Human Cognition Integrity Standard (HCIS) defines the structural conditionsunder which human cognition remains self-governed, reality-aligned, judgment-capable,
assumption-aware, cognitively independent, and operationally valid during interaction
with information systems, AI systems, autonomous agents, decision-support environments,
and future cognition-enhancing technologies.
HCIS governs human cognition.
The standard ensures that human cognition remains the legitimate owner
of human judgment, even when cognition is influenced, assisted, augmented,
accelerated, or challenged by external cognitive systems.
Human cognition increasingly depends not only on intelligence, knowledge,
or information access, but on whether independent judgment, metacognitive awareness,
reality alignment, cognitive autonomy, and decision responsibility
remain materially preserved.
