Canonical Definition System

Surface Integrity defines the non-bypassable conditions under which any
physical surface remains intact, unaltered, and free from unauthorized
modification.

 A surface is considered integrity-valid only if its:
  • structure
  • appearance
  • material state
remain unaffected by unauthorized intervention.

Any modification without authorization constitutes integrity violation.

A. Standard Abstract

Surface Integrity Standard (SIS) establishes the foundational rules governing how
surfaces may be used, modified, or interacted with across systems.

The objective is to ensure that:
  • surfaces are not altered without authorization
  • surfaces do not become uncontrolled communication channels
  • material integrity is preserved
  • visual and structural state remains intact
This standard does not define specific environments.
It defines the universal condition of surface integrity.

B. Core Principle

A surface must not be altered without authorization.

C. Core Integrity Conditions

All conditions MUST be present simultaneously.

1. Authorization Condition
Any modification, marking, or application to a surface MUST:
  • be explicitly authorized
  • be attributable to a responsible entity
  • comply with defined conditions
Unauthorized interaction is invalid.

2. Non-Alteration Condition
A surface MUST NOT be:
  • permanently altered
  • structurally damaged
  • visually degraded
without authorization.

3. Reversibility Condition
Any authorized modification MUST:
  • be fully removable
  • leave no residue
  • preserve original surface state
Irreversible modification is considered degradation.

4. Material Protection Condition
Surface material MUST remain:
  • intact
  • undamaged
  • structurally stable
Any penetration, chemical impact, or physical alteration is classified as damage.

5. Communication Control Condition
A surface MUST NOT function as a communication channel unless explicitly authorized. This includes:
  • promotion
  • identity signaling
  • messaging
  • advertising
Unauthorized communication constitutes misuse.

6. Responsibility Attribution Condition
Every surface modification MUST be:
  • attributable
  • linked to a responsible entity
  • legally and operationally accountable
Anonymous modification is prohibited.

D. Prohibited Conditions

A system is non-compliant if:
  • surfaces are modified without authorization
  • markings cannot be removed without damage
  • residue or permanent alteration exists
  • surfaces are used for unauthorized communication
  • responsibility cannot be assigned
Any unauthorized alteration invalidates surface integrity.

E. Threshold Logic

Surface condition is:

  • VALID → no unauthorized modification, no damage, no residue
  • INVALID → any unauthorized modification, damage, or alteration

No partial compliance is permitted.

F. Scope

Applicable to:
  • product surfaces
  • urban infrastructure
  • buildings and structures
  • transport systems
  • shared public assets
  • private surfaces exposed to interaction

G. System Position

SIS functions as the root integrity layer for all surface-related systems.

All domain-specific applications operate as modules under this standard, including:
  • Product Surface Integrity (PSI)
  • Urban Surface Integrity (USI)

H. Structural Principle

A surface is not a medium.

It becomes one only through explicit authorization.

I. Compatibility Statement

A system may declare:

"Surface Integrity Compliant"

only if all conditions are continuously satisfied.

Canonical Closing Statement

A surface may be used.

It must not be altered without permission.

 Surface Integrity Standard establishes a non-negotiable condition:

unauthorized modification is degradation, not use.
