Category: Product & Design
Subcategory: Surface Integrity Implementation
Type: Integrity Enforcement Module
Parent Standard: Surface Integrity Standard (SIS)
Version: 1.0
Status: Canonical · Open Module
Effective Date: 10 April 2026
Compatibility:
SIS · INTEGROS® · CGRM · Consumer Protection Systems
C. Structural Requirements
1. Non-Damage Condition
Labels MUST NOT:
- damage material
- remove coating
- alter surface structure
- affect visual integrity
Labels MUST:
- be removable without tools
- require no force that risks damage
- require no heat or solvents
- leave the surface unchanged
After removal:
- no adhesive residue may remain
- no contamination may occur
- no discoloration may be present
Labeling systems MUST:
- be compatible with the surface material
- not chemically interact
- not penetrate surface structure
High-risk materials include:
- untreated wood
- soft coatings
- natural finishes
- porous materials
direct labeling is prohibited unless full compliance is guaranteed.
6. Alternative Labeling RequirementWhere direct labeling is not safe, the system MUST use:
- hanging tags
- string labels
- removable sleeves
- external packaging labels
D. Minimum Implementation Framework (MIF)
Step 1 — Identify Surface Type
The system MUST classify material type before applying labels.
Step 2 — Validate Label Compatibility
The system MUST ensure adhesive compatibility with the surface.
Step 3 — Test Removability
The system MUST verify:
- removal without tools
- no damage
- no residue
Labels MUST be applied only if all conditions are satisfied.
Step 5 — Provide Safe Alternative
If risk exists, direct labeling MUST NOT be used.
G. Consumer Protection Condition
If a label:- cannot be removed safely
- leaves residue
- alters the surface
Integrity Compromised Surface
J. Case 1 — Surface Degradation After Label Removal
ScenarioA product surface is damaged during label removal.
Without Module
- residue remains
- surface altered
- damage accepted
- unsafe labeling blocked
- alternative used
Surface remains intact.
