Canonical Definition System

Infused Water Standard (IWS™) defines the conditions under
which water may be naturally enriched through infusion while
remaining structurally identifiable as water and suitable for
continuous hydration.

Infused water is not transformed into a supplement, extract, or
flavored beverage.
It remains water, enriched only through controlled natural release
from source material.

A. Standard Abstract

IWS™ establishes the structural boundary between natural infusion
and artificial enrichment.

It defines when water may be enriched through contact with natural
source material without losing its identity as water.

The standard prevents the category from collapsing into:

• synthetic hydration products
• flavor simulation
• direct-addition functional drinks
• supplement-like liquid systems

B. Core Principle

Infusion is a process of natural release, not direct addition.

Water remains valid under this standard only when enrichment occurs
through contact-based infusion without transforming the fundamental
identity of the medium.

C. Scope

This standard applies to:

• naturally infused drinking water
• plant-infused water systems
• mineral-infused water systems
• hydration products based on contact-release infusion

This standard does not apply to:

• direct-addition supplement drinks
• synthetic flavored waters
• chemically modified hydration products
• extract-based liquid products presented as infused water

D. System Position

IWS™ operates as:

• a product integrity standard for infused water
• a category boundary between water and transformed beverage
  systems
• a methodological condition for valid natural enrichment without
  loss of water identity

It does not define tea, extract, or supplementation systems.
It defines when water remains water.

E. Methodology

A valid infused water system must include:

• water as the primary medium
• natural source material suitable for water contact
• controlled contact-based release
• a final output that remains suitable for continuous hydration

Permitted infusion methods include:

• CI — Cold Infusion
• HI — Hot Infusion
• CD — Controlled Decoction

All methods are valid only if the output remains structurally
identifiable as water.

F. System States (Extended)

VALID STATE
A product is IWS™ valid only if:

• water remains the primary and dominant medium
• enrichment occurs through natural contact-based release
• source materials are suitable for human consumption
• no direct-addition process replaces infusion
• the final output remains suitable for continuous hydration

INVALID STATE
A product is IWS™ invalid if:

• substances are added directly to water as enrichment
• synthetic additives replace natural infusion
• the process chemically modifies the water
• the final output behaves as a supplement, extract, or
  flavored beverage
• water identity is no longer preserved

DECEPTIVE STATE (DPS — Distorted Product State)
Occurs when:

• a product is presented as infused water without valid
  infusion
• direct addition is disguised as natural release
• the hydration identity of water is replaced while product
  claims remain unchanged

DPS constitutes a critical product integrity failure.

G. Non-Bypassable Clause

No product may be represented as infused water unless:

• enrichment occurs through natural infusion
• source materials remain valid and suitable
• the final output remains water in structural and functional
  terms

Any product claiming infused water outside these conditions is
methodologically invalid.

H. Enforcement Logic

If IWS™ conditions are not met:

• infused water claims are invalid
• natural hydration positioning becomes non-verifiable
• product integrity status is lost within the OOF® framework

Persistent violation results in:

• classification as a non-valid infused water system
• exclusion from validated product integrity environments
