Version: 1.0
Effective Date: 19 March 2026

Canonical Definition

A Virtual Representation is a non-physical presentation of an asset
in a digital or simulated environment that allows access, viewing,
or interaction without transferring or altering the original asset.

A virtual representation does not replace the original
and does not constitute ownership of the asset.

Why This Matters

Without clear classification of virtual representations:

Virtual representation separates access from possession.

Minimum Implementation Framework (MIF)

Step 1 — Identify Source Asset

Define the original asset or source from which
the representation is created.

Step 2 — Confirm Non-Physical Form

Ensure the representation exists only in digital
or simulated space.

Step 3 — Define Representation Purpose

Establish that the asset is presented for viewing,
interaction, or experience — not transfer.

Step 4 — Declare Representation Status

The asset must be clearly identified
as a virtual representation.

Step 5 — Preserve Origin Link

The representation must maintain a clear relationship
to the original asset.

Use Case 1 — Virtual Museum Exhibition

Scenario

A museum creates a virtual gallery accessible worldwide.

Application

Artworks are presented as virtual representations
without moving physical originals.

Result

Use Case 2 — Digital Experience Platforms

Scenario

A platform offers immersive viewing of artworks or objects
in a virtual environment.

Application

Assets are classified as virtual representations.

Result

Structural Principle

Access does not require transfer.
Representation does not imply ownership.

Closing Statement

The original stays in place.
The experience travels.
