D. Scope

This standard applies to water use in:

  • irrigation-based agricultural production
  • food processing environments
  • herbal cultivation
  • washing of consumable goods
  • water-dependent production systems

This standard does not replace:

  • potable water regulations
  • hygiene legislation
  • environmental compliance requirements

Public law and regulatory frameworks remain fully applicable.

1. Water Source Disclosure

The primary source category of water used in production must be
documented.


Examples include:

  • municipal supply
  • private well
  • surface water (river / lake)
  • rainwater collection
  • mixed sources

If multiple sources are used, each must be identifiable.

2. Intended Use Transparency

Water interaction with production must be clearly defined.

Examples include:

  • irrigation
  • washing produce
  • processing use
  • ingredient inclusion
  • cleaning or sanitation

The declared use must reflect the real interaction between water and
production processes.


3. Declared Water Status


The status of water used in production must be declared.

Possible categories may include:

  • municipal regulated potable water
  • laboratory tested water
  • private source with declared status
  • non-potable operational use

The standard defines transparency of declared status, not mandatory
testing procedures.
