A classification cannot be considered trustworthy if it ignores thecontext in which the classification is performed.
Different operational environments, regulatory conditions, business
objectives, risks, jurisdictions, technologies, and temporal factors
may require different classification outcomes even when evaluating
the same object.
Classification Context Standard establishes the third governance
layer of CLA®, ensuring that every classification is evaluated
within its appropriate operational context before classification
decisions are made.
Why This Standard Exists
Classification decisions do not exist in isolation.Without governed context, identical objects may be classified
inconsistently, producing operational errors, governance conflicts,
regulatory non-compliance, and unreliable decision-making.
