Canonical Definition
Runtime Evidence Continuity Module (RECM) defines the structural conditions under whichruntime evidence remains continuously preservable, reconstructable, attributable, and
operationally connected across live execution flow without material fragmentation of
operational history.
A system satisfies RECM only if:
- runtime evidence remains structurally continuous
- operational history does not materially fragment
- runtime events remain reconstructably connected
- consequence-bearing execution remains traceable
- operational evidence continuity survives runtime progression and state
- transition
A system that preserves isolated records while losing reconstructable runtime continuity
does not satisfy RECM.
Module Function
The module applies wherever systems must preserve:- runtime event continuity
- execution-chain continuity
- state-transition continuity
- attributable operational history
- consequence-bearing evidence continuity
- distributed runtime traceability
Its function is to preserve reconstructable operational continuity across runtime execution
itself.
Minimum Implementation Framework
1. Define the Runtime Evidence ObjectThe organization must define which runtime evidence objects require continuity preservation.
This may include:
- runtime events
- execution transitions
- authority changes
- permission changes
- orchestration actions
- consequence-bearing outputs
- escalation events
2. Define Evidence Continuity Conditions
The system must define the conditions under which runtime evidence remains continuously
preservable across execution flow.
This includes:
- temporal continuity
- attribution continuity
- execution-path continuity
- state-transition continuity
- operational sequence continuity
3. Define Fragmentation Detection Logic
The system must define how evidence fragmentation is identified and interpreted.
Fragmentation may include:
- disconnected runtime history
- missing operational transitions
- unattributable execution segments
- broken consequence traceability
- isolated evidence states
4. Define Operational Response or Governance Logic
The system must define governance logic for materially fragmented evidence continuity
conditions.
Governance response may include:
- evidence-state escalation
- operational narrowing
- audit review activation
- runtime restriction
- reconstruction prioritization
- operational invalidation where required
5. Preserve Traceability & Restrict Invalid Conditions
The system must preserve reconstructable traceability of runtime evidence continuity and
fragmentation states. A system must not remain evidence-valid if runtime history fragments
materially while continuing to claim reconstructable operational auditability.
