Canonical Definition
Consequence Traceability Continuity Module (CTCM) defines the structural conditionsunder which operational consequences remain continuously traceable to runtime actions,
execution paths, authority conditions, operational actors, and governing states across
live execution environments.
A system satisfies CTCM only if:
- consequence-bearing outputs remain traceable
- operational consequences remain linked to execution history
- runtime actions remain connected to resulting operational effects
- authority and permission conditions remain consequence-attributable
- operational consequence continuity survives runtime progression
A system that generates operational consequences without preserved traceability continuity
does not satisfy CTCM.
Module Function
The module applies wherever systems must preserve:- consequence-bearing traceability
- runtime-to-outcome continuity
- execution-to-consequence linkage
- authority-condition traceability
- operational outcome attribution
- distributed operational consequence continuity
Its function is to ensure that operational consequences remain reconstructably connected to
the runtime conditions and operational actions that produced them.
Minimum Implementation Framework
1. Define the Consequence ObjectThe organization must define which operational consequences require traceability continuity
preservation.
This may include:
- runtime outputs
- automated decisions
- escalation outcomes
- delegated operational actions
- orchestration outcomes
- system-triggered effects
- consequence-bearing state changes
2. Define Consequence Traceability Conditions
The system must define the conditions under which operational consequences remain
continuously traceable across execution flow.
This includes:
- execution linkage continuity
- authority-condition continuity
- operational actor continuity
- runtime-state continuity
- consequence-path continuity
3. Define Traceability Failure Detection Logic
The system must define how broken or materially weakened consequence traceability is
identified.
This may include:
- unattributable operational outcomes
- disconnected consequence paths
- ambiguous execution origin
- broken authority linkage
- unreconstructable outcome generation
4. Define Operational Response or Governance Logic
The system must define governance logic for materially broken consequence traceability
conditions.
Governance response may include:
- runtime escalation
- operational review activation
- audit intervention
- consequence-state restriction
- execution narrowing
- operational invalidation where required
5. Preserve Traceability & Restrict Invalid Conditions
The system must preserve reconstructable traceability of operational consequence continuity
and traceability-failure states. A system must not remain consequence-valid if operational
outcomes can no longer be materially connected to identifiable runtime conditions, execution
paths, or operational actors.
