Canonical Definition
Responsibility Integrity Standard (RIS) defines the structuralconditions under which responsibility associated with a governed
identity remains legitimate, attributable, verifiable, continuous, and
continuously governable throughout the complete identity lifecycle.
RIS governs identity responsibility.
The standard establishes the governance conditions required to ensure
that every governed identity has clearly attributable, continuously
traceable, and governance-valid responsibility throughout its
complete lifecycle.
Authority determines who may act.
Responsibility determines who remains accountable for those actions.
RIS governs that responsibility.
Standard Abstract
Every governed action produces responsibility.Every governance decision creates accountable participants.
Without governed responsibility:
- accountability becomes fragmented,
- responsibility may become ambiguous,
- governance obligations may be avoided,
- operational trust declines,
- governance reconstruction becomes difficult.
RIS establishes the governance conditions required for legitimate,
attributable, and continuously governable responsibility.
