Canonical Definition
Authority Verification Module (AVAM) defines the structural conditionsunder which authority over a governed identity remains authentic,
legitimate, verifiable, evidence-supported, and continuously
governable throughout the complete identity lifecycle.
AVAM governs authority verification.
The module establishes the governance conditions required to ensure
that every exercise of authority can be independently verified before
governance actions are recognized as legitimate.
Authority must not only exist.
Authority must be verifiable.
AVAM governs that verification.
Minimum Implementation Framework
1. Define the Authority Verification ObjectIdentify the authority relationship requiring verification.
2. Define Verification Conditions
Establish governance conditions governing authority legitimacy,
evidence requirements, verification methods, and governance approval.
3. Define Verification Failure Logic
Identify conditions where authority becomes unverifiable, expired,
unauthorized, inconsistent, or governance-invalid.
4. Define Governance Response
Define governance actions for authority approval, rejection,
suspension, investigation, revalidation, or governance escalation.
5. Preserve Verification Records
Preserve verification results, governance decisions, supporting
evidence, authority history, and audit records.
Use Case 1 — Enterprise Identity Administration
ScenarioA governance administrator requests authorization to modify a
strategic enterprise identity.
Application
AVAM verifies that the administrator possesses legitimate governance
authority before the request is approved.
Result
Only verified authorities may perform governance actions affecting the
governed identity.
Use Case 2 — Cross-Platform Identity Governance
ScenarioA governed identity is administered across multiple
operational platforms.
Application
AVAM verifies the legitimacy of authority before governance actions
are accepted on each platform.
Result
Authority remains trusted, consistent, and continuously governable
across the complete identity lifecycle.
