MIF — Earned Learning Implementation Framework
Standard: Earned Learning Standard (ELS)
Category: Systems & Product
Subcategory: Learning & Skill Systems
Version: 1.0
Status: Canonical · Open
Effective Date: 15 April 2026
Core Implementation Loop
All implementations MUST follow:Teach → Challenge → Demonstrate → Validate → Unlock
Implementation Layers
1. Instruction LayerIntroduce a concept in its simplest functional form.
2. Challenge Layer
Present a task or real-world scenario requiring application.
3. Demonstration Layer
Require the learner to perform the task.
4. Validation Layer
Verify correctness, functionality, or effectiveness.
5. Progression Layer
Unlock reward or next stage only after validation.
Implementation Steps
Step 1 — Define Learning UnitBreak knowledge into actionable components.
Step 2 — Assign Challenge
Create a task that requires application.
Step 3 — Require Demonstration
Ensure the learner performs the task.
Step 4 — Validate Outcome
Confirm that the result is correct.
Step 5 — Unlock Progression
Allow advancement only after proof.
Minimum Implementation Requirement
A system satisfies ELS only if:
- learning requires application
- performance is demonstrated
- outcomes are validated
- progression is earned
Failure Condition
If any of the following occurs:
- no demonstration
- no validation
- automatic progression
- reward without proof
System Output
A system implementing ELS produces:
- demonstrated capability
- measurable performance
- reliable skill development
