Why This Matters
Without controlled editions:
- copies may become unlimited
- value may collapse
- ownership becomes diluted
- monetization loses structure
into reproducible assets.
Minimum Implementation Framework (MIF)
Step 1 — Identify Original AssetDefine the original asset from which the edition is derived.
Step 2 — Define Edition Size
Set a fixed and declared number of units.
The total number must not change after declaration.
Step 3 — Assign Unit Identity
Each unit must be individually identifiable within the edition.
Step 4 — Define Ownership Rights
Each unit must have clearly defined ownership
and usage rights.
Step 5 — Declare Edition Status
The asset must be identified as part of a limited edition.
Use Case 1 — High-Value Gallery Monetization
ScenarioA gallery holds a high-value artwork and chooses
not to sell the original.
Application
A limited edition of 9 authorized physical copies
is created and distributed.
Result
- monetization without loss of the original
- controlled scarcity preserves value
- each unit holds independent ownership value
Use Case 2 — Artist Global Exposure
ScenarioAn artist digitizes their work and creates a limited edition
for global distribution.
Application
Digital or physical editions are issued with defined quantity
and ownership.
Result
- global accessibility
- new revenue stream
- expanded audience without loss of control
