Its function is to ensure that cognition remains visible after, during,
and before operational actions occur.


Minimum Implementation Framework

1. Define the Cognitive Traceability Object
The organization must define which cognition activities require traceability governance.

This may include:

  • reasoning processes
  • planning processes
  • tool selection
  • execution decisions
  • workflow generation
  • agent coordination
  • delegation decisions
  • autonomous operational actions

2. Define Cognitive Traceability Conditions
The system must define the conditions under which cognition remains traceable.

This includes:

  • reconstruction requirements
  • attribution requirements
  • explainability requirements
  • auditability requirements
  • visibility requirements
  • reviewability requirements

3. Define Traceability Degradation Detection Logic
The system must define how cognition traceability degradation is identified.

This may include:

  • missing cognition records
  • unexplained decisions
  • non-reconstructable reasoning

  • auditability failures

4. Define Operational Response or Governance Logic
The system must define governance logic for cognition traceability failures.

An autonomous cognition system must not remain traceability-valid if material cognition events
