Canonical DefinitionBehavioral Safety Standard (BSS) defines the structural conditions under which
AI behavior remains safe, governable, predictable, controllable, accountable,
and operationally trustworthy while minimizing unacceptable behavioral risks
throughout the complete behavioral lifecycle.
BSS governs AI behavioral safety.
The standard establishes the governance conditions required to ensure that
behavioral safety is continuously preserved despite operational uncertainty,
environmental change, autonomous decision-making, or evolving system behavior.
Safety is not created by technology alone.
Safety emerges when behavior remains continuously governed.
BSS governs that behavioral safety.
Standard Abstract
Every previous behavioral space ultimately supports one final objective:Safe AI behavior.
Integrity, boundaries, escalation, auditability, evidence, trust, correction,
continuity, and interoperability all contribute to behavioral safety.
BSS integrates these governance conditions into the final behavioral
governance objective.
