Behavioral Boundary Standard (BBS) defines the structural conditions under
which AI behavior remains confined within authorized behavioral boundaries,
operational limits, governance constraints, delegated permissions, and
approved behavioral domains throughout the complete behavioral lifecycle.
What Are Behavioral Boundaries?
Behavioral Boundaries define the operational limits within which AI systemsare authorized to behave.
They determine:
- what AI may do,
- where AI may operate,
- when AI may act,
- under which conditions AI may make decisions,
- when AI behavior must stop,
- when human intervention becomes necessary.
Behavior without boundaries cannot remain governable.
Behavioral Boundary Standard (BBS) exists to govern those boundaries.
Why BBS Exists
AI systems increasingly operate with higher levels of autonomy.Without clearly governed behavioral boundaries, AI may:
