Canonical Definition

Event Capture Module defines the structural conditions under which
an event is captured at the moment it occurs in a form that remains
traceable, verifiable, and linked to the originating system condition.

An event capture condition is valid only if:

• the event is captured at occurrence time
• the source of the event is identifiable
• the capture path is traceable
• the captured record remains linked to the originating system condition
• the event is not reconstructed as a substitute for live capture
• A captured record that is detached from the originating event does not satisfy ECM.

Module Function

ECM defines how event capture becomes structurally valid before
later audit, validation, or operational reliance takes place.

The module applies where a system must prove not only that an event
was recorded, but that it was captured as a real occurrence rather
than reconstructed history.

Step 1 — Define the Event Boundary

The organization must define what qualifies as an auditable event.

Minimum requirement:

• event type is explicit
• event start condition is defined
• event boundary is distinguishable from background system activity

Step 2 — Define Capture Timing

The system must define when capture occurs.

Minimum requirement:

• capture occurs at event time or within structurally valid live linkage
• delayed reconstruction is not treated as event capture
• timing logic is explicit

Step 3 — Define Event Source

The originating source of the event must be identifiable.

Minimum requirement:

• actor, system, process, or trigger source is defined
• source identity is traceable
• anonymous or detached event origin is excluded from valid capture

Step 4 — Define Capture Path

The route from event occurrence to captured record must remain visible.

Minimum requirement:

• capture path is traceable
• no hidden capture substitution exists
• event does not enter the record through undefined intermediary logic

Step 5 — Preserve Event-State Linkage

The captured event must remain linked to the system condition
present at occurrence.

Minimum requirement:

• state linkage exists
• the captured event is not detached from its originating condition
• later interpretation does not replace structural linkage

Step 6 — Restrict Invalid Substitution

The system must not treat inferred, summarized, or reconstructed
history as valid event capture.

Minimum requirement:

• reconstructed records are distinguishable from live-captured events
• missing live capture is not silently replaced
• structural validity is not claimed without event-time linkage

Scenario

A production system must prove that a critical operational event
occurred under a valid condition at the exact point of execution.

Application

ECM is used to ensure:

• the event boundary is defined
• the event is captured at occurrence time
• the source process is identifiable
• the capture path remains traceable

Result

The organization gains stronger audit defensibility and a materially
stronger basis for proving that the event was captured as
operational reality rather than reconstructed after the fact.

Scenario

An organization uses AI-assisted workflows and must verify when an
AI-triggered action, recommendation, or system event actually occurred.

Application

ECM is used to ensure:

• the AI-related event is captured when triggered
• the originating source and condition are identifiable
• the event record remains linked to real runtime conditions
• later summaries do not replace live event capture

Result

The organization gains a stronger basis for validating AI-related
event history, accountability, and audit reliability in environments
where delayed reconstruction would be too weak.
